The Pharmacy First service is a government-funded initiative that offers individuals the opportunity to receive professional assessment and treatment from a trained pharmacist. This service specifically caters to seven minor ailments, which include:
- Acute sore throat (For adults and children aged 5 years and over)
- Acute Sinusitis (for adults and children aged 12 years and over)
- Acute otitis media (for children aged 1-17 years)
- Infected insect bites (for adults and children aged 1 year and over)
- Uncomplicated Urinary tract infections (for women aged 16-64 with uncomplicated urinary tract infection)
- Impetigo: Adults and children aged 1 year and over
- Shingles: Adults aged 18 and over who
It is important to note that if you have certain underlying health conditions, you may require more specialist care than the Pharmacy First service can provide. To ensure that the service is appropriate for your needs, you will receive an automated email upon booking, containing advice regarding the specific minor ailment you have selected. Additionally, you will be asked to complete a health questionnaire prior to your appointment. This questionnaire assists us in determining whether you fall within the scope of this service.
